If you are challenged by sensitivities or allergies – or if you are proactive about using clean products and services – Penny Black Organic offers Australia’s first Certified Green Salon experience.

To respond to the needs and values of our clients we have created a sustainable, eco-conscious and non-toxic salon in Queensland. We are a Certified Green Salon, which means that we operate under a Certification working alongside Environmentalists and Green Chemists who ensure the safety and quality of anything that enters the salons, from the paint on the walls to the products that we use.

Certified Green Salons offer valued and safe services for people who suffer from allergic reactions and sensitivities, pregnant women or parents with young children, those who are unwell with auto-immune diseases or cancer, and those who simply understand the effects of toxic chemicals and choose to stay away from them.

For this reason, we need to make sure we have the correct information so that we can give the best service and advice to our beautiful customers.

It is imperative that non-toxic salons like Penny Black Organic are working alongside chemistry professionals, otherwise there is no auditing, product testing or any other systems in place to regulate the toxicity levels within the products and colouring systems. The Salon is annually audited and thoroughly trained through the Education Team provided by the Certification. All of our stylists have continued further studies to certify as a Green Hairdresser.
